TEACHER TRAINING APPLICATION
Spring Session 2006

PRE-REQUISITES

You must satisfy (A), (B) and (C) to be admitted to Teacher Training:

A:  Minimum Six (6) months of regular Bikram Yoga practice at an affiliated studio

B:  Letter of Recommendation from the studio director of the affiliated studio where you have satisfied (A) requirement

C.  Minimum 21 years of age

If due to extraordinary or unique circumstances, you are unable to satisfy the above prerequisites, you may submit a written description of your situation for consideration to Shelly Kompel, the Teacher Training Registrar, at Shelly@BikramYoga.com. 

All of our affiliated studios are listed on our website.  Please click here to see if the studio is affiliated.  Be aware that misrepresentation regarding the extent of your Bikram Yoga practice may constitutes grounds for dismissal from the Teacher Training or non-certification as a Bikram Yoga teacher.
 

PLEASE SEND IN THE FOLLOWING TO APPLY:
  • Signed Application (Questionnaire)
  • Signed Medical Consent and Waiver
  • Signed Teacher Training Agreement
  • Letter of Recommendation from you BYCOI studio director (who is a Bikram Certified Teacher) that you've practiced with for at least 6 months.
  • Proof of identification with photo ID: Copy of driver's license or passport
  • Two original 2X2 passport style photos (please no copies)
  • Deposit & Student Fees: $3,100 by check or credit card number
  • If you need to stay in dormitory housing accommodations, you must send in your initial teacher's training deposit of $3,100 plus $2,100 dormitory fees in advance for your reservation, total of $5,200. The remaining balance of $2,500 for Teacher's Training is due 30 days prior to the start of Teacher Training Session.
  • The Fall 2005 dormitory housing is limited to accommodation availability.

1. ONLINE APPLICATION
Fill out this online application in detail.  Print the application after clicking the submit button.  Send the printed application in with the other items requested. 
 
2. MEDICAL CONSENT AND WAIVER
Obtain the signature of a licensed physician on the attached Medical Consent and Waiver Form certifying that you are physically capable of enduring the rigors of the entire Teacher Training session.  Please make sure your doctor's name and contact information is legible.
 

3. TEACHER TRAINING AGREEMENT
Please read your teacher training agreement.  You must abide by its terms.  Initial each page after reading and then sign in the space provided.  Make a copy for your records.  Please return the entire agreement with your application.

4. SEND IN YOUR COMPLETED MATERIALS
Please send in your completed materials together with your deposit of $3,000 and $100 for student fee.  Make checks payable to Bikram Choudhury.  Do not fax applications unless you have spoken to us.  If paying by credit card, please complete the credit card information on the signature page of the Teacher Training Agreement authorizing your credit card payment to us.

Please note that your application does not ensure that you will be admitted to Teacher Training.  Should you be accepted, you will receive an acceptance letter and welcome packet along with a copy of the Bikram Yoga Class Dialogue.
