I have been practicing at your studio in Tempe for a short while now having attended maybe 10 or 12 classes thus far.
I am a former dancer, well trained over a lifetime. I am now 55 years oldand a high risk cancer survivor, including a bone marrow transplant. I train seriously at Athlete's Performance three days a week. The purpose of taking on that regimen 14 months ago was to insure that my physical self was strong and fit enough to hold off any future cancer challenges. But while I got very fit and strong gradually reclaiming my physical self, I began to miss the dance part of me more and more.
One of the massagetherapists there recommended your studio and thought it would be good for me. She was right.
It not only provides the flexibility work, which I crave, but feels very much like an internal workout. Having made every cell in my body during my bone marrow transplant, I feel the classes on a cellular level and have had similar experiences as I did when I was living in a sterile room, my only job being the making of new cells and healing on every level. I also benefit greatly on a spiritual and emotional level from class.
I appreciate the kindness and generosity of your staff. It has been a life changing experience to begin this journey. I am anxious to make the most of it. For the first time in many years yesterday, I went back into the dance studio and felt the great joy of movement. That is partly a result of my work at Bikram Yoga Tempe.
For that I am very grateful.
